Students will be given one point for each A grade, each H grade, each 0 tardy, and each 0 absence for the term. Also, students will be given one point for every two hours of school service work. Such hours may come from school club/organization projects or volunteer work at school. The hours are to be submitted by faculty advisors at the end of each term. Service hours must be completed during non-school time. Non-school-related service hours will not count (e.g. Youth Council, church, community, Boy Scouts, etc.) School points are added into the final total as a bonus. In addition, students who have improved their quarterly GPA by at least one point from the previous quarter will automatically qualify unless they have a probation status. If an improvement report cannot be generated from SIS, students will have to apply for this qualifier.
Students must have a full-time status in order to be considered for Nuestra Casa.
A predetermined percentage cutoff point will establish those qualifying. For example, if the qualifying percentage is 80 percent, a student taking eight classes (32 points possible) will have to have 26 points to qualify. A student who has seven classes and seminary (28 points) will have to have 22 points to qualify, etc.
Based on pre-set criteria, this student would be at 81 percent , thus qualifying for the program.
